This hospital is atrocious. While this complaint is not about the wait time because my fiancé is a diabetic so of course he is hgh on the priority list. Granting us a short wait time. But thats because if they dont get to work immediately he could die because every minute his sugar increases. So technically they dont even get to claim perk. Also, the doctor in the er was just rude. I made a statement saying how I thought they would have a bg meter that could read high sugar since they were a hospital. While someone could take that the wrong way, even though the way and tone I said it was not at all attacking or insulting but a legit admittance of ignorance. A physician thats job includes a good percentage of hospitality should not get smart with their patients families for no reason let alone when they are trying to be informed. Its very ugly and makes a person like myself have to make an effort to keep their cool around these people. Which brings me to my last complaint. The nurses in icu 1 are very controlling, highly disrespectful and flat out liars. My fiancées nurse told me while he was awake that Id be able to come and go as I pleased I just couldnt wake him up if he was sleeping. We were both totally fine with that. My fiancé just usually needs to fall asleep with some part of his body touching mine. He already was terribly upset that I had to leave but I had to take care of our daughter so we could deal with this. I have called to check on him and now while hes asleep are telling me I have to wait in the waiting room because hhe is sleeping. What he knew before he went to sleep is that I was going to take his father home, get our daughter taken home and come straight back. She goes in there every hour to check his sugar so he wakes up and sees that I havent been there but I bet they didnt tell him that they told me I couldnt come in the room. The receptionist in icu 1 is also highly rude. Scoffing when I respond to her greeting with Ive called to check on my fiancé. Says "ok when you call you should probably say what his name is because we have a lot of patients" in the most condescending and Ill mannered tone Ive ever heard. Then the nurse that lies gets an attitude with me every time I ask if he has woken up or is awake. Just because he needs rest doesnt mean he couldnt nor doesnt want to see his wife for ten minutes!!! He went into dka with sugar level at 868. Thats almost fatal! So we were all pretty scared, yes, I more than most but that is completely noremal. So F you nurses at Audubon and take care of my fiancé!!!

Just very disappointing thus far. We were transferred here from Suburban after my husband required an angioplasty & stent. Procedure & staff in CVL were fine, but moving up to the floor has been nothing but disappointment & frustration. First, my husband who is attempting to recover from a heart attack & was in ICU less than 6 hrs ago is put into a shared rm. When we arrived on the floor, his side of the room was literally crammed with chairs. He had to be left in the hallway while they moved extra furniture out, while trying to maneuver around this other person. It was like we were just excess baggage to be inconveniently stuck somewhere. To add insult to injury, the room was positively filthy. There was dust & HAIR layered so thickly on the blinds, I was squeamish about sitting down, let alone having my poor husband lying in this space. It has been non-stop commotion since he reached the floor, besides the nursing checks, which are fine, there have been people in & out, calls over the intercom for staff, loud, busy hallways. No one will shut the door behind them, and the hall is very loud. I am gravely concerned & frustrated for my husbands recovery chances here & am just praying he isnt exposed to some type of infection. The staff have all been kind & accommodating, but overall weve been less than impressed with the experience, especially coming from such a healing, quiet, attentive environment at Suburban. I wish wed had the time to find an alternative.

At check in Thursday 5:30 the person we dealt with was not friendly and confrontational, the person that took my wife to take blood did not have an employee name tag. (we made people aware but they said that was normal) The surgery went well and the people in the family waiting room were very nice. Every thing was ok until we were assigned to a room (6215) it was a semi private room (although there were private rooms available.) We got to the room at 3:00 and the other person in the room left at 4:00. The room was dirty (nasty) as was the bath room, garbage can running over on to the floor, dirty towels and night cloths on the floor, room was in disorder, cramped and needed cleaning.( I would like to say that the nurses were great and their care was superb.) We told the staff a number of times about the room but when I left at 9:30 nothing had been done. My wife said some one came in later that night and straightened up the room. Friday around 11:30 a nurse came in and said she smelled a foul odor got her supervisor and later that day my wife was moved to another room (6206 private) We would not recommend using Audubon if you can find another hospital. The nurses are great but we can not say anything good about the facility. )

I was told by my Doctor to stop in at any time before 9:00pm to have blood drawn for follow up on medication effects for congestive heart failure, I did not need anything ...they would know what to do. When I entered the registration area, I did not see anyone there.....I waited (approx. 5 minutes) when I noticed someone in a cubicle (she had to see me). When I greeted her she told me I would have to sign in....I WAS THE ONLY ONE THERE!!! I signed in and waited another 10 minutes until she mumbled my name. It then became obvious that she was not going to help me. It is sad that as well as I have been treated by the medical staff (they have a tough job) that they would have to put up with someone as insubordinate and unprofessional as this person. So if you go into the registration area and you are unfortunate enough to get "KAYLA"....Don"t turn around and walk away....Turn around and RUN !!! I asked her if I could speak to anyone else ... she told me she was the only one there....THAT"S SCARY !!!

I use to love this hospital. But i have gotten diagnosed with kidney disease and have been in this hospital since January 20th and today is the 30th. The service has been awful. Everything has been slow. Its best if anyone gets to you ask for everything all at once, because it will take forever for someone to get back to you. I also had a stroke and was told i have no good blood flow on left side, well they postponed my surgery 2 times, in the mean time my little toe kept getting worse, well not it needs to be amputated. The nurses put me on NPO, 3 times, who wants to go all day no food and they keep postponing stuff. Dont schedule it if you cant do it and put the patient through this especially when there already traumatised. They dont even order a tray for no one, unless you remind them. Food is awful, service awful, I think this was the worst experience of my life. I hate the way i wad treatec.
