This review is 3 years in the making. I had such a horrible experience here that I feel I am obligated to warn anyone and everyone about this place of business. I had recently moved to LA and needed a dentist, I had previously gone to the same dentist my entire life in my home state every 6 months, I was the ripe age of 25 when I went to Grand Family dentistry in Mandeville. I had had my first cavity ever 6 months prior and had it filled by my dentist in my home state. I went to Grand because it was closest to my house and I just needed a routine cleaning. I thought it was odd that they kept asking me how I had heard of them and if I knew anyone who went there, I have a feeling that since I didnt personally know anyone who went there or had a connection to anybody that they felt they could take advantage of me. At 25 years old with a history of ONE cavity I was told by one of the male dentists (who I will not name) that I had 6 cavities and needed 2 crowns!!!!!! I was slightly confused but was urged to go ahead and make the appointment to get these procedures done, which would have cost over $4,000. When I left, I called my mom and told her what they said, she said there was no way on earth I needed crowns unless i had been sucking on battery acid since my last dental appointment 6 months prior. I didnt even know what crowns were, after she described what that meant, I went ahead and cancelled my appointment. I then asked some friends in the Mandeville area for other dentist recommendations. I went to the other dentist immediately and he filled 2 cavities. No crowns were ever needed. I have since moved back to my home state and just went to get my routine cleaning for the first time in 1.5 years from my childhood dentist. NO CAVITIES and yes no crowns needed whatsoever. It is so sad to think that since I was young, not from around the Mandeville area and had dental insurance that these people were willing to take out 2 of my teeth and fill 4 unnecessary cavities just to make a buck. DO NOT GO HERE and if you do get a second opinion.

The dental staff are great. I dont have any issues with the service I have ever received. I did have an issue this time however. I consider myself a responsible consumer and I dont mine a reminder txt to tell me about my appt but I get txt and calls. Its too much and I just delete them went I get them. This time you called my house and changed my time. You said you talked to my wife and confirmed the change. So I agreed to come back at another time. When I talked to my wife about it she said that the person said they called to confirm my spot at the new time. Not that the time was different or that it was changed, just that it needed to be confirmed. She doesnt know my schedule but she did know that I was planning to come for my appt. So she confirmed that I would be there. I would prefer that if you are going to change the time that you talk to me. I didnt like the way the office manager presented the error to me. He was more concerned about proving he was right and the mistake was my wifes. It made me feel embarrassed. The change you requested was to move up my appt by 30 minutes. I got there 15 early. So effectively I was 15 minutes late. For the new time.

The dentist office has never been a favorite place of mine, but here they know how to make you feel comfortable: from the overall atmosphere of the place to the knowledgeable staff. I went in for a cleaning and my hygienist was Stephanie, she kept checking to make sure she wasnt hurting me and that my experience was as pleasurable as one could be at the dentist office. Her assistant was Sarah and she was great she made sure i was seated promptly and took care of all my X-rays and prep work so the hygienist could get right to work. She also was very knowledgeable and answered any concerns or questions i might of had. Dr. Buras came in to check afterwards and was great, she explained why everything needed to be done and made sure everything was done to her satisfactory which it was. The entire staff from the front to the back always had a smile and made you feel welcome. this will be the only dentist office i will go to as long as i live on the north shore.

It has been years since I have been to a dentist office and expected the third degree of questions like "why did you wait so long to have your teeth looked at" or " its gonna take a lot of work to fix this!" but no. I walk thru the door talk to the receptionist and fill out paperwork and maybe had to wait 5 minutes past my scheduled appointment. Bottom line these people have got it going on...everyone was very nice and polite, worked with a sense of urgency and constantly concerned with the patients comfort as the procedure progressed. I also noticed while in between procedures workers not involved with me personally how they went about their work with completeing their task and moving on. The dental hygienist and dentist on a scale of 1 to 10....a 15! Very knowledgeable, professional and beautiful. Yes Im a guy but was and am very impressed with Grand family dentistry!!

I used them 3 years ago when I needed a tooth pulled and they were great. I had a bad cavity and I wanted to get it filled, but when I called to get that taken care of I was told I needed a cleaning first. But I couldnt get an appointment. The days I could go were not available. Needless to say I didnt go and now have problem with that tooth. Last week I get a letter from them saying its been 3 years since theyve seen me. So I decided today to call and see if I can get an appointment. Didnt happen again. I couldnt get an appointment for any Thursday for the whole month of February. Great if you can get an appointment, but as my two experiences shows, its easier said than done.

My experience at Grand Family Dentistry exceeded my expectations! From the moment I entered their facility I was satisfied. Each time I return to Grand Family Dentistry I am greeted by friendly staff and a clean, inviting environment. The service that I received from Grand Family Dentistry was Six Months Smiles, cosmetic adult braces. I am amazed with my results! Dr. Bratcher is absolutely phenomenal. She is very attentive and diligent. Dr. Bratcher was very proactive in addressing my concerns making sure that each time I returned my smile was improving. I would highly recommend Dr. Bratcher and the entire Grand Family Dentistry team to anyone in Southeast Louisiana!

Ive lived in 5 states across eastern US and experienced MANY Dental offices. Grand Family Dentistry is Way Above the Rest! The entire staff offers their skill with professionalism and kindness. I know this will be hard for some people to believe but I look forward to my biannual cleanings. Kacey makes my mouth feel super clean and I know they genuinely want me to leave the office with a healthy smile. Im proud to say my children and I have been lucky to have been cared for by Grand Family Dentistry for the last 12 years. Even the office staff are wonderful. I would consider anyone very fortunate to be a patient at Grand Family Dentistry.
