I adopted my kitten, now cat from Owings Mills Animal and Bird hospital late september of 2011. She was fine in the office, took her back to my apartment within a couple of days she was wheezing, had nasal discharge, and had trouble breathing. So I made an appointment and was seen right away. It seemed like Dr. S couldnt comprehend her symptoms or why she had them, but said her sister which was still unadopted had no signs of it. He decided to prescribe her respiratory medicine anyway (at no charge thank god, because we had her less than a week). It seemed the medicine worked for like a week and then her symptoms only got worse and still to this day. She developed excessive scratching and scabs, while still having the breathing problems. When we went back to get blood work done for her to get fixed, his price was outrageous and he charged for a test he didnt even ask me if i wanted. Needless to say he said our cat was fine and she clearly is not. I have not seen this doctor since his unauthorized blood work. Then this earlier year I got a voice mail from his office saying that if i miss my appointment i would be charged a cost. I called them right up and said I did not make this appointment, i want it canceled, and I will not be using their services. HORRIBLE PLACE and not even good prices. dont know why anyone would go there.

Dr.S is horrific. He literally almost killed my dog. I have an Italian Greyhound who I took to this doctor for his vaccines. I was instructed by Dr.S to give him a baby aspirin, which he prescribed and provided should my puppy become fussy after the vaccination. Well, the dog got fussy and had developed a large lump on the back of his neck, and seemed very uncomfortable, so I gave my six pound dog the pill he suggested. Within several minutes, the dog became lethargic, could not stand up and was howling...I immediately tried to pick him up as I was concerned and the dog bit me. He was in such pain and I didnt know what to do! I rushed him to the dog ER and was told by THEIR vet that I had over medicated the dog. WHAT? But I did exactly what I was instructed to do. However when you think about it...why on earth would you ever give a six pound anything the same dosage an adult human consumes? When I confronted Dr.S about it, he insisted hes never had such a problem and would not refund any of the money I had paid for his frivolous "puppy package". (Total waste of money-and remember, I had to pay to correct the mistake HE made!) Do not put your pets life in this mans hands. They may not make it out.

HORRIBLE I Found Out That They Gave My 3 Month Old Puppy The Coronavirus Vaccine And Its Not Recommended For Any Dogs Of Any Age !!!! They Didnt Even Tell Me It Was A Not Recommended Either They Told Me That It Was A Core Vaccine And It Was Required They Didnt Ask My Permission To Give My Puppy The Shot Either They Just Did It To Make More Money ! I Called And Called Them Out On What They Did Wrong And Asked For A Refund For The Shots I Paid For That Dog And The Veterinarian That I Spoke To Got A Rude Disgusting Attitude With Me And Told Me Get My Facts Right And MAYBE Hed Give Me A Refund If I Gave Him Proof It Was Not Recommended . If You Look Up The American Animal Hospital Association Canine Vaccination Task Force They Updated Their Vaccine Guidelines And They Grouped The Coronavirus Vaccination As "Not Recommended" Vaccine ! After I Told The Vet I Was Unhappy With What They Did Without My Knowledge He Hung Up On Me And Will Not Give Me My Refund After I Emailed Him 3+ Articles Proving Its Not Recommended ! Worst Veterinarian Experience Ever !!!! DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!!

Not a horrible vet, but you will overpay and feel bad for not choosing the "better options for your pet". My girlfriend bought a dog and was told to take it to a list of vets and she choose this one. She signed up for a plan and then all they wanted to do was sell you more and more. I agree with the other review on here where they talk about a used car salesman. To me if there is a better way of doing something that is better and less painful for your pet, why wouldnt you standardize your practice around it and charge a little more to everyone. In this case I am talking about the neutering process. They charge you an extra $110 to use a laser rather than a scalpel, $50 to put in an IV just in case something goes wrong and a wide list of other fees that are added to the bill. If my girlfriend would have followed all of their advice it would have cost her a fortune. I dont see myself using this vet in the future. Too much money and hidden costs.

Dr. Slovon is the 4th vet I have taken our bird to. Timmy started plucking 4 years ago and we have tried everything behavioral, diet related and holistic that has been suggested. Other vets prescribed antihistamines to try and help, dismissing the fact that aside from the plucking, Timmy also seems quite nervous (an incident happened four years ago beyond our control that will never happen again). Dr. Slovon listened to everything and read my extensive notes and offered alternatives that no one else had. We just started so were waiting to see if it helps but in general I would recommend this vet. The girls in the office were all very nice, the prices were reasonable (but does that really matter when you are talking about a family member?) and the office smelled clean. It would be nice if there was an entrance right off the parking lot or out back rather than off the sidewalk by Reisterstown Rd. but other than that we have no complaints.

Terrible place, took my dog there to go under for a teeth cleaning years ago[only because someone else took him and went to the wrong place],after he came home he wasnt recovering like he normally did..was acting weird and helpless,i even had to hold him up to pee.I found out later after taking him to a REAL vet that he wasnt given enough oxygen while being put under,yup..my dog was pretty much brain dead.Went back their later only to find out that they removed any record of what happened to him there in their computers, they could only find his name and address. Apparently hes also known for not stitching dogs properly,i know atleast 2 people personally who took there pets there for a simple fixing and had there stitches reopen nearly killing them.Need i say more?

So this vet is terrible. He is very rough with the animals. I have a 9 month dashchund poodle mix, I didnt notice it at first but he was very rough with handling him. Of course my pup never was examed before so he freaked. He snatched him up and yelled at him saying that they have to know who is boss. When given shots, my pup was in pain for several days and got sick from the shots. Plus if you are a vet and you love animals why in the hell are you trying to sell everything under the rainbow and not even for a discounted price but prices that are higher then what I found online. I purchased my pup from "Just Puppies", they need to change who they partner with for vets, I hope this vet gets closed down, DONT TAKE YOUR ANIMAL THERE!
