Following is the review I posted on yelp: The quality of care and the management of the ER are dismal. The ER doctor who saw us was unprofessional, had limited knowledge of toxicology, and went to medical school in Mexico (many students whose grades are too poor to get admitted to a US med school go out of the country, e.g., Grenada). The ERs head nurse was militant, patronizing, and poorly educated. I took a child to the ER because I feared he might have swallowed cleaning product before we could get it away from him. I learned more from a perusal of the NIH website and the MSDS for the product than the ER staff knew. They had to call Poison Control to find out how to respond. I had already called poison control, immediately after the incident, and I told the call center I felt uncomfortable responding to what seemed like intrusive questions that were unrelated to my childs problem , e.g., "what is his last name." The call center told me that providing the information was purely voluntary. I mentioned to the the ER doc, Dr. Ira Seid, that poison control was asking questions that seemed intrusive for a "help line," so, given the option, I chose not to disclose some of the information they requested. Dr. Seid told me I had nothing to worry about because Poison Control was simply gathering the data for "demographic purposes." He was clearly being dishonest; Dr. seid conferred with the head nurse who felt my reluctance to provide that optional information to Poison Control represented suspicious behaviour. DYFS was at my home within an hour of our leaving the emergency room. If you want your childs emergency to be handled with speed, profesionalism, and respect, please consider Morristown, St. Clares of Denville (not Dover), or Newton Memorial. I would only go to Hackettstown if I were hemorrhaging from a major artery.

If you want to be fooled paying a handsome amount then you must visit and get treated by this awfully bad hospital. My wife wanted to have some of the blood test and she was advised to go to this hospital and also called that she would get treated well and at no expenses. The Zoofal Medical center was going to charge her for the test just 65$. To save this amount, as we have been recently moved to this good country we didnt have that big amount to pay for, our misfortune took us to this Hale. They took the test drawing blood leaving a lot of bruises on hands of my wife by their inexperienced nurses. Then after a week or so they produced a bill of 2294$ I went to them they said you have to ask for NJ Financial help. My question was if I have to seek NJ financial aid why they didnt tell right away before taking the tests. If Ihad sent my wife to asian country to take the test it would have been cheaper than this one, not to mention it would include to and fro fair from USA and the entire stay. I would suggest that fi anyone reading this review happen to have a pre desided medical treatment better get a flight to India, Sri Lanka or Malasiya it would be definitely cheaper to get treated than this Hackettstown Medical Center, the hale.

I was traveling home from a trip on I-80 when sudden onset of abdominal pain occurred. I pulled of at the police barracks and was ambulanced to Hackettstown Medical ER. I was there a little over 3 hours. Received a CT scan, 2 Tylenol, a prevacid and released as gastritis. No IV fluids or any fluids although I complained of dehydration. My concerns with my symptoms were explained away by the doctor. I left and continued my drive home. Shortly down the road my symptoms returned. I pushed through the discomfort until I got to Jersey Shore Medical Center ER. I write this review from my hospital bed there. They diagnosed me with kidney infarction after a simple CT scan "with contrast". A test your doctor wasnt interested in performing. Maybe it would have held the ER bed another few hours. Needless to say Im glad I made it to my hospital regardless if it could have cost me more damage. The one star is for the nice staff that brought my 5 yo lunch, coloring book and a bear. No sarcasm at all, you made the time entertaining for him. Unfortunately your doctors inattentiveness and lack of humility could have cost me a lot.

I am 37 weeks pregnant and went in today for fetal monitoring because my fetal movements were less than 10 movements per hour. The nurse at the Labor and Delivery area who took care of me was amazing, courteous, knowledgeable and more importantly very thorough. She performed several tests to check both the baby and I and she explained everything to me that she was doing and why. She was very caring, kind and thoughtful. It was by far the best experience I have ever had in a hospital. I have high risk pregnancies and have been through a lot of scary moments at hospitals and I must say this was the most pleasant experience I have had during such a tough and scary time. The RN at this hospital definitely made me seriously consider switching to this hospital over from mine which is rated one of the Top 50 in the country. Not sure about the doctor`s though. I heard the one on call was good but she never took the time to come and see me which is why I wont switch because the doctor never stopped by and that may say a lot about the doctors here. Its a shame since the RN was amazing.

Horrible experience in Hackettstown Hospital. As a muslim I declare that Hackettstown Hospital descriminates against muslims. Last Thursday I went there with my 15 month old baby who had a broken arm. They ignored me for over two hours while serving people who got there before and after me. I decided to leave. At the door they offered to serve me, but I left. If I could rate the hospital with a negative number of stars I would do it. Then I got the best treatment at Morristown hospital, without waiting for even one minute. Shame on Hackettstown Hospital, for crying out loud it is an infant.

Nurse more interested in watching tv. completely unattentive and passive towards patient pain. Took 2hrs to administer iv bag when I came in complaining of dehydration. Nurse response, "How do you know youre dehydrated? Your tongue looks wet." He had just given me ice water to take pill. Sat in room for over 4 hours without anyone coming in to check temp out anything. IV bag left dry in my arm for over 3hrs. Such arrogance. Such blatant disregard for pain. Theres a reason Plaza Family will not send kids to this ER.

Hackettstown has been the only out of multiple hospitals I have went to for help with my ulcerative colitis. They were the ONLY hospital that did not shove me out the door and tell me to wait to go see my gastro dr. Hackettstown hospital admitted me for about two weeks and they got me in remission for six months because they were the only hospital that took care of me! Wish i still lived there just so I could go back if i needed to. Great hospital.

I have been to several different hospitals. I was a sickly child. I recently moved to Hackettstown with my fiancé and this medical center is about 5 minutes away. She has been vomitting in the waiting room for about 3 hours. Nobody came over, nobody even offered a damn tissue. THIS IS THE WORST HOSPITAL I HAVE EVER SEEN.
