Dr Wilson and the entire staff at Cascade Summit Animal Hospital in West Linn were AWESOME! They took such good care of my sick kitty, Baldwin. I thought I would lose him he was so sick. He didn’t look sick really to those who don’t know him but he was, he was so weak and tired plus he’d lost 2 pounds, that’a a LOT for a cat!, but Baldwin’s a trooper through thick and thin. He’s been through a lot in his life and he is very resilient so it’s hard to see that he really is not feeling well if you don’t know him well. Believe me, this clinic will get to know him very well!!! :-) Doctor Wilson was very patient and spent a lot of time explaining what she was going to do and why so that I understood the entire process all along the way. Cascade Summit Animal Hospital in West Linn and Dr. Wilson provided my Baldwin with the best care he’s ever had at a veterinary clinic in his whole life, and believe me I’ve been to plenty. He’s back to his old self now which is to say hes feistier than ever and on his way to being a 10.8 pounder again! Anyone that fishes knows that “A 10.8 POUNDER IS A KEEPER!!” THIS VET CLINIC IS A KEEPER TOO!!! LOL. I absolutely loved this clinic and will certainly be back, I think I’ve finally found the right place for my 2 cats! Doctor Wilson was so knowledgable and so thorough, she was very gentle and loving with my Baldwin and I really appreciated that, that’s very important to pet owners who really love their pets! The doctor called me the next day to explain the tests they’d done and she went through all the results of his blood test and x-rays explaining everything in detail so I knew exactly what I was dealing with and what Baldwin needed and may need in the future as well as possible reasons for what was, and has been, going on with him for a long, long time now. I have never had any veterinary clinic do such a complete physical exam on my animal much less call me the next day and explain everything in detail and answer all my questions! AMAZING! The entire staff here were all so wonderful, they were so friendly and cheerful, they were helpful, caring, concerned and very loving with my little Baldwin. I Thank you so much Cascade Summit Animal Hospital and Doctor Wilson, Baldwin thanks you too!!! We will certainly be back! Thank you for being a great place to bring my pets where I can finally feel at ease knowing they are getting the best care possible! Great care=very happy cat

We’ve been with Cascade Summit for 12 years, and we would never go anywhere else. When we first found Cascade Summit, we were looking for doctors and a practice into whose hands we would feel safe and confident putting our family members’ lives. Cascade Summit has proven to be that, and so much more, time and time again. They’ve been our rock, our strength, and our support, through the passing of 6 family members and the tumultuous puppyhood of our 2 ½ yr old German Shepherd, Paco, who, incidentally, absolutely loves going to the vet! But what we hadn’t realized, when we found Cascade Summit, was that what we were also choosing a people who would become our family, and into whose hands we would be putting our hearts during some of the most heartbreaking moments of our lives. During a recent vacation, Olivia, one of the wonderful staff members at Cascade Summit, pet sat our beloved hamster, Delilah, for us. Halfway through our trip, Olivia called to tell us that Delilah, who had been recovering from an unknown illness, had taken a turn for the worse. It was well after Cascade Summit had closed for the day, and Delilah wasn’t even a patient of theirs, as they specialize in dogs and cats. But Dr. Beswick offered to stay and see Delilah anyway. Because he and Olivia knew that Delilah was not “just” a hamster, but a very precious and beloved family member of ours. Dr. Beswick stayed three hours late, so that he and Olivia could take care of Delilah. And when he determined that Delilah was dying and in pain, he gently euthanized her while Olivia cradled her in her arms. Dr. Beswick and Olivia held our hearts in their hands that day, and gave us a priceless gift that we will always treasure - the comfort and solace of knowing that as our precious Hammy-Ham breathed her last, she was in the care of people we know and love, people who have known and loved us and all of our family members for the last 12 years, and not with a stranger at an emergency clinic. We cannot even imagine taking our beloved family members anywhere else.

Dr. Chris Ortner as well as the rest of her vet colleagues and support staff offers the best pet care I have ever experienced. I have been a client of Dr. Ortner?s animal hospital for many many years after leaving a clinic that treated my dog?s health care as secondary to the business they were in. I do understand vets who are in the "business" of animal care versus those like Dr. Ortner who love all animals and have their best interest in mind. Dr. Ortner and her staff always took excellent care of my dog and when we would arrive for a visit we were greeted as if part of their own pet family. I have recommended Cascade Animal Hospital to several other friends who are very happy with their animal?s treatment there. In this past year especially as my dog battled bone cancer I could not have asked for more compassion always ensuring his care and comfort were top of mind. Whether during a visit or a phone call to check in to see how he was I know they all truly cared about him. I did try heroics including surgery, radiation and chemo (they don?t get sick like people) and while Dr. Ortner would keep an eye on his daily well being she recommended his treatments be done by local specialists that she has relationships with to give him the best chance possible. Right up until his last day I had the support of people who genuinely loved my dog, who made that last good bye as special as it could be and even held a memorial service because so many staff were touched by his passing. So as I contemplate now getting another puppy there is no question that my next little guy will have the absolute best care for a healthy life. If you consider your animal part of your family there is no question you need to entrust their care to Dr. Ortner and her wonderful staff.

Though you are usually greeted with a smile, dont be fooled, it is merely a ruse. These "professionals" are only geared towards giving you obtuse information about your pet, and leading you down a road of high cost, and hidden costs of the services they "render". For instance, blood work needed to be done on our dog, I asked about the procedure and the costs, and was given a price. However when the final bill came it was significantly more than what was quoted. So for the $100.00+ dollar blood test, there was also a $50.00 dollar fee to read the blood test! I figured a blood test would naturally include the reading, but alas the rest of the bill was tagged with additional charges that were not mentioned. And it doesnt stop there. Another blood test taken for our cat, didnt have the "reading fee". I get the feeling that these people are totally driven by the bottom line, and to excess, it over rides any compassion for the pets or their owners. I will never ever, ever darken the doors of this abomination, and in fact will be sure to mention while passing the location near the Safeway etc...that, "that is one place you dont want to take your pet". Avoid it, Avoid it, take your pet somewhere safe. PS I put one star because there is no ZERO!
