I had the most unpleasant experience 1st off back in March Adoma one of my pets got sick he was 16 or 17 yrs. old. He was dehydrated so Dr. West put him on IV fluids all night then he tested his urine and blood the next morning well he told me Adoma was dying of kidney failure because his urine was diluted well of course it would of been since he was on IV fluids all night. But the day before the mobile vet had been out and looked at Adoma and tested his blood his kidneys were fine but he told me what was wrong gave me meds and said take him in to a hospital if needed. I asked Dr. West what the kidney values were on his blood test he said I dont know what you are talking about well anyone who has had blood work on their pet knows the blood tests show kidney values, liver values etc. I got a copy of his blood work while he was at lunch and 2 different vets looked at it and both said he was not dying of kidney failure. Adoma later had a heart attack. But the day after Memorial Day Parkway was open early and I took my 15 yr. old in to see the other vet to see Dr. Howard. Lucky was not feeling well so I left him cause they were busy well they did blood work and they said they examined him. Well they sent me home with antibiotics plus meds for a stomach ulcer. Well a couple days later I called an asked for some meds to get Lucky to eat. Well I went to pick it up and question what it was and the tec bit my head off but the bottle was unlabled the only thing hand written was the amount of meds to use. Needless to say Lucky was getting worse by Sun. May 31st. Sango Vet was open so I took him there and after 2 minutes she felt a mass in his stomach and also said his heart was not beating normally. She did an XRay to confirm and to make a long story short about the details the tumor was affecting his heart and spleen and his spleen was leaking. If the spleen had ruptured it would of been a painful death. I put Lucky to sleep. Parkway could not of saved him but he suffered longer because Dr. Howard missed everything. I told Dr. Whitbeck at Sango Vet I was never taking my pets back to Parkway again. The day after Lucky died I called and talked to Debbie West and told her everything. She actually had the nerve to tell me they wanted me to move on because they did not like me asking questions. Well as a pet owner I have the right to know whats going on and what meds are given to my animals and people like me keep them in business and their attitude is PURE ARROGANCE . Another thing they do at Parkway if they dont believe in the treatment they dont give anyone an option. A good example would be not all meds work on arthritis dogs so I go to Dr. Ramey at All Gods Creatures for Lazer treatments which have been a big help. But if Dr. West doesnt use it, it doesnt exist. I promise you both vets at Parkway did not graduate at the top of their classes.

FED UP AND TIRED OF TAKING THIS LYING DOWN!!! At some point in time, I became very sick and tired of the general public hearing only one side of the story. I do realize the majority of normal people see through the words in a negative review. Most negative reviews of Parkway Animal Clinic are unjustified and dont even deserve a rebuttal. However, veterinarians beware. This is in response to Karen Vs review of June 2015. We feel it is only fair that you be warned. This former client is an animal hoarder. Over just a couple of years we have seen 3 dozen pets. She is a very difficult client and the only reason we attempted to provide services as long as we did is because we actually liked all of her pets and felt sorry for the situation they were in. I mention this because her tirade is motivated because of rejection. She is probably running out of veterinarians in Clarksville that are willing to see her. As usual, Karen misunderstands or doesnt pay attention to what she is told. Adoma most certainly did have renal (kidney) disease. A team of other veterinarians have reviewed our clinical workup and agree. He could have died of a heart attack. We dont dispute, however, we adamantly dispute her allegation that Adoma did not have renal disease. In the situation with Lucky, Karen showed up without an appointment while Dr. Howard was slammed with appointments. Karen was convinced Lucky had a bladder infection and wanted antibiotics. So Dr. Howard agreed to a urinalysis only to confirm or disprove the clients "diagnosis". A full exam was not given. The dog was happy, wagging its tail and certainly not in a state of emergency. Therefore, other appointments had priority. The really sad part of this clients review is how our clinic bent over backwards to help her financially for months at a time, helped her through the death of her mother and even ran a personal errand for her, then she stabs us in the back for no reason. Some people just dont get it. By the way, if many of our clients were like Karen, I would have retired many years ago (as per her suggestion). For the record, Dr. West graduated from Auburn University with honors.

I almost wrote this clinic off based on the negative reviews, and I am SO happy that I didnt. I have a Rottweiler who had a terrible vet experience as a puppy, resulting in fear aggression associated to going to the vet, so I enter a vet visit with high anxiety as it is. Staff attitudes and how they treat my dog are EXTREMELY important based on the fear aggression and the peace of mind I need in order to survive even the simplest of visits. We took our dog here to get knee surgery and while I cant say with certainty that the surgery was a complete success, being only two weeks post op, I CAN say that the whole process was made incredibly comfortable and easy. The price for the surgery was VERY competitive and much more reasonable than other local clinics. We shopped around and they had the lowest rate which matched our original estimate from our former vet clinic back in New York. Another local office was charging DOUBLE and another didnt perform the surgery on large breed dogs at all. As an extra added assurance, the surgeon had previously performed the surgery on his own dog. The customer service, attitudes, and atmosphere created by the staff is incredible. Speaking as someone who comes in the door with a difficult patient, thats saying a lot. I was able to hear the techs talking to my dog as she fought the removal of her stitches like a rabid beast and I have to give the techs a nice long slow clap for their ability to stay calm and perform the removal without sedation. They were patient, kind, and showed no prejudice against my dog based on breed or her fear aggression. Which I have dealt with enough in the past to know that that is not "standard operating procedure." They were above and beyond where my vet experience is concerned. I cant speak for other reviewers, but as for me and my dog, I dont see myself taking my fur babies anywhere else.
