I was brought in by ambulance on July 4th and they came very close to missing a broken bone. They did xrays and found a broken bone in my elbow. I had been complaining that my shoulder was numb, but they really didnt pay attention, until the doctor came in to tell me how lucky I was that I had only broken one bone. When my wife asked, "Then why does he keep saying his shoulder is numb". To which the doctor replied, "I dont know, maybe we need to xray it." It turns out that my humerus bone was broken in half and they almost missed it. That is the bone that attaches the shoulder to the elbow, so I would not have been able to move my arm. I also had a large section of road rash on my upper arm and knee. They did not do any wound debridement and I believe that they missed a cut on my knee that was so deep it should have had a stitch. They splinted only the bottom half of my arm leaving the humerus unstable, and put me in a sling that was too small. I was in severe pain and they gave me several pain meds, none of which did anything to alleviate my pain. They sent me home with a 3 day prescription of pain meds, even though they told me I would need to wait a week for the swelling to go down before I saw a doctor to perform any repairs. I was discharged to walk out, no wheelchair was offered and I was looked at like I was an idiot, when I asked if one would be. The following day I was still in so much pain, that I called to see if there was something else they could prescribe. they said I would need to come back to the ER or go to another Baylor facility to be reevaluated. I chose to go to Baylor Garland, since it is closer to my house. The doctors at Baylor Garland, were amazed at how bad the injuries were and the fact that they had not admitted me downtown or done surgery. They at least put on a splint that covered my entire arm and immobilized the humerus and provided me with a proper sized sling. I have told everyone since, that I am extremely disappointed with Baylor and would not recommend them.

Worst ER I have ever been too! I went to the ER due to a large splinter in my eye next to my iris. At 7pm I was transferred from a Baylor ER over an hour away to this ER. When I got here there were several people parked in the wait room from ambulance rides. After a 1 hr wait I finally get re-triaged and put back in the other waiting room. There was a nurse that was brought from another clinic, with chest pains and a pace maker, and was left in the waiting room without being checked. Another lady was brought in with a compound fracture that happened in the parking lot. She was also put in the waiting room without being triaged. When I was finally taken back I was motined to follow a nurse, which i did. Only to learn after following her and waiting for 15 minutes that inwas suppose to follow someone else. Whe i was finally put into a room i had to once again get re-triaged and re-explain all my med history and why I was there to be seen. Remember the lady with the broken arm, she was put in the room next to me. After her xrays, i heard the dr say she will need surgery because of the amount of time she had to wait. Then the dr came to see me. When I told him my story, he seemed unable to understand what I meant by cutting wood and a splinter got in my eye. I guess the "cutting wood" part was tripping him up. A Opthomologist was supposed to be called in before my arrival to the new ER (cause supposedly this was the only facility with one), but that didnt happen. I had to wait again for them to verify there was a splinter in my eye, call the eye surgeon, and then wait some more for him to come in. It now 1AM and still no eye Dr.! Ive never seen a medical facility with such a horrible lack of communication and competence. When the Dr, (not the eye dr) decided to look at my eye he couldnt even turn on the equipment.

I went to the emergency room a couple years ago and am still paying for the horrible experience! The front desk women who checked me in for severe pain were very unattentive and chatty amongst themselves. There seemed to be no concern or "emergency" type attitude. They were not busy, about 4 other people waiting besides myself. One of which arrived AFTER me and was seen before I was for an ankle sprain. It was very obvious I was on a low priority list for them. I informed them I was having surgery the following month for severe dysmenorrhea-again no real concern. I was treated with an attitude of "every woman has pain deal with it". After almost 4 hours my friend asked them what was taking so long- I was seen within about 30mins after that. The nurse was the only helpful person I encountered- she was understanding and very informed on dysmenorrhea. The physician never even came in and spoke with me. Over 2 years later now and I receive a letter in the mail from a third party trying to collect for the "physicians fee". I was told it had already been taken care of after calling them for 4 months stating my insurance sent them the forms requested. I really shouldnt have even been charged that in the first place considering I never saw or spoke to the physician, he only looked at my chart and signed off for the nurse. All the time, energy, money, and stress this has caused I fully regret going. Had I known what I do now I would have just suffered instead. I STRONGLY recommend not going here!

My brother had emergency surgery for a ruptured hernia at Baylor Dallas. After 2 1/2 weeks, he still has a feeding tube, tracheostomy tube, rectal tube and urinary tube. Today, the machine for the feeding tube stopped working. For 4 hours I begged the nurses, technicians and doctors on duty to get a new machine for my brothers feeding tube. They repeatedly told me that they had ordered a new machine and that there was nothing else that they could do for my brother. One nurse actually told me that my brother would be o.k. even if he didnt get fed through the feeding tube. I asked her how long she could go without eating. She didnt answer me. My brother is unable to eat because of the tracheostomy tube. His only source of food is the feeding tube. Since it is broken, he is getting no nutrition. He is so weak that he is unable to walk and can only stand with a walker for a few minutes. I am now wondering how many times in the past 2 1/2 weeks did the feeding tube machine break and starve my brother. This system forced me to give a rating of one star; however, I definitely rate Baylor Dallas at negative stars. There is no excuse for their inhumane treatment of my brother.

I was in a wreck a few months ago. I asked the emt to go to providence and they said they had to take me here for the trauma center. We get there, and I have glads and cuts all over me. "Shes been complaining about her elbow" is what they told the nurse who was in the room when we arrived. But no one bothered to look at or even ask about the giant bloody spot on my elbow. No wound care was done. I let them know I was pregnant at the time. So they didnt do xrays on me or the person with me. Nor did they do any other type of test to make sure my baby was ok or to even confirm my pregnancy. I literally went in, and sat on the bed. Thats it. And now have a $1500 bill. This place disgusts me. All they care about is time and money. I went to the providence er two days later because of this wreck. My physician there referred to it as "killcrest" because all they do is rush people in and out and charge them out the wazoo. Theyve killed quite a few people due to misdiagnosis and not treating properly. They told me sister, when her water broke, that she just peed herself. My nephew was born 2 hours later at a better hospital. Time to step it up. Because this place is awful.
