By far one of the worst veterinarian experiences that I have ever had. I have had dogs my entire life and have been to various different veterinarians throughout the state of FL and I have never encountered one so dysfunctional. From my experiences at Westwood, I clearly came to see that they were driven by profit and not by their care for animals. Taking my 3 1/2 month old puppy to this vet has possibly resulted in the death of my puppy. My puppy, a rescue from Tampa, was under-diagnosed and misdiagnosed on 3 different occasions. I later found out, on research done on my own and after a trip to North Florida Animal Hospital, that my puppy has bacterial pneumonia. Because of the ineptitude of Dr Pridgeon, my puppy was not properly taken care of and her symptoms only grew worse. In the span of 2 days, I was forced to pay close to $1,000 for treatments and medicines that werent ever meant for her sickness. My puppy had severe breathing problems, no appetite, mucous discharge from her nose and eyes, diarrhea, her third eye-lids were very apparent and she could not walk or control her bladder. The only thing that Dr Pridgeon told me was that my dog was very sick. Not only did he show a disregard for proper procedure in this case, but he showed an utter lack of knowledge for the care of my puppy. I have never experienced such idiocy and inadequacy at a vet before. I will never return to this vet and I will never recommend this vet. My puppy is now in North Florida Animal Hospital, spending two nights in intensive care and because of the lateness of her diagnosis, she has a 50/50 chance of living. I hold Westwood Animal Hospital and Dr Pridgeon directly responsible for this.

<~Best Clinic in Tallahassee!!!~> I do not understand what happened for the 2 bad reviews but, I have had an AWESOME experience with this clinic. I have been to 2 out 3 of the vets at this clinic and the two I have been to have been extremely courteous and caring towards, me , my fiance, as well as my pups! The vets would speak to both of us. Answer questions before I even had a chance to ask, go above and beyond my expectations each and every time. I always leave with a happy dog with freshly clipped nails (some vets charge for this, they do NOT!), warm good-bye, and money in my wallet! Every dog, cat, squirrel, and bird I have seen leave has also been happy! My puppy is about to get neutered soon and the entire cost for the neuter, blood work, pain medicine, removal of missing testicle, and hernia repair will be $350. I have been quoted at Oakwood and North Florida upwards of $400 just for the neuter and bloodwork. (not including pain meds, baby teeth, etc) The ladies at the front desk have always been helpful and when I call with a question they go directly to the vet and ask and no long wait. In fact, every time I go the receptionist has a bow, or cute outfit for my pup! All my dogs go there and I would trust no other clinic in Tally with my precious babies! They are of superior quality and deserve the right to charge more for their A+ quality work, but dont. AWESOME VET CLINIC!

I have been going to this vet for about 2 years now and I absolutely love it! I do agree with previous comments about the receptionists gossiping and such but I can look past that since the vets are so great. I have seen two of the three vets here and they are both phenomenal! Dr. Hall is extremely knowledgeable of small dogs and he is who my dog has seen for his annual visits and puppy shots. My dog recently fell ill with some stomach problems and I called first thing in the morning (7:30am) and spoke with a tech who was awesome! She told me to bring my dog in and they would have a look at him while I was at work. Dr. Sanders saw my pup and called me right away with a diagnosis and a treatment plan. He also watched him shortly after while he was being boarded there and insisted that I call him with updates every few days. They always answer all my questions and have provided me and my dog with the best care! Highly recommended!

I really could not tell you what these people are talking about with all these awesome reviews. This veterinarian is terrible all around. The receptionists gossip about the customers, the doctor favors talking to men over women (even though they are my cats, he would ask my fiance medical history questions and as soon as I would answer he would go back to talking to my fiance), and they just do not try. I asked for an antihistamine or other allergy treatment for my cat and he insisted on trying nothing and just giving steroid shots every time the cat had a reaction. Eventually, I switched the food and he has been great. No thanks to the doctor. He does not even listen. I went in there with a full medical history about my cats allergies and he would not even look at it. I do not trust them with the health of my animals and do not like dealing with them. The ONE good thing about them- they are cheaper.

My cat was sick and since shes a new adoptee we hadnt used a vet before. I had to choose one fast and get her an appointment asap. I read good reviews about Westwood and called thinking they would be swamped. But I got an appointment for my girl that same day, and the lady on the phone was very nice. When I described my cats symptoms, she already basically diagnosed what was wrong, and made it seem like it would be no problem to help her. After we arrived, the vet and assistant were very gentle with her, helpful to us, and gave us exactly the meds she needed. They took us back before the appointment was even supposed to start, and we left less than 15 mins later. I didnt get a quote before they started, so I was worried about what the bill would be, but I left pleasantly surprised!

Had high hopes...After going to a different local vet and having a bad issue I thought things could only get better. Boy was I wrong. They may treat my pet like just a pet, but to me she is so much more. So when you see a new patient, you should read the ENTIRE sheet about when she had her last shots. If you dont do that at least ask to see her previous records. They gave her an extra shot and charged me for it even though I had it clearly written on the sheet of what she had gotten done 6 months ago. And then when I asked the front desk about it, she acted like I was the dumb one and that it was my fault. Excuse me for thinking that you could actually do your job right as a veterinarian in Tallahassee!

My Boston Terrier, Nola, actually does not mind going to the vet. Westwood makes the experience great for both her and me. She has been seeing Dr. Sanders for a year now and his helper, Chris, is just great with her. She gets excited to see him and goes crazy when we leave. I only have had one bad experience where they took some samples when I scheduled for shots only and was unaware of them taking the samples. She was due for them, so it was in part my fault for not knowing she was due. Other than that everything has been wonderful and I recommend them to everyone I know!
