TL:DR version: The office ran additional blood work on a followup appointment without discussing anything with us. It did not appear on our final bill. Several weeks later, we received a bill in the mail for the work. Weve been trying to contact the owner, Dr. Cidon, since NOVEMBER to discuss this (3 months at the time Im posting this). She has failed to return ANY of our calls. Full Version: We took our dog here in November after several days of diarrhea. On our first visit, blood work was performed to see anything was out of the ordinary. Approximately a week later, on a follow-up, an ultrasound was run to check his liver. After this, we paid for the ultrasound and visit (~$300), which should have included everything done. Several weeks later, we received a bill in the mail for additional blood work that was run at the time of the ultrasound, which had not been on our bill paid at the office, and had never been discussed with us. Since then, we have repeatedly reached out to them to discuss this. Every time we call, were told to leave a message for Dr. Sherman and that shell call us back when she has an opportunity. Its the owner, Dr. Cidon we need to speak to. At this point, weve been trying to reach Dr. Cidon for 3 MONTHS, and she has failed to return ANY of our calls/requests to discuss the issue. Half the time we call, we cant even reach anybody at this place. At this point, Im almost ready to eat the charges so we dont have to deal with this aggravation any longer, but am posting this since clearly phone contact doesnt work, and so others will know how much this place apparently values their clients.

I have two beagles that have been patients of Dr. Cidon at Pet Vets Animal Hospital since January 1998. At that time the hospital had only been open a short time. We have watched it grow into the wonderful facility it is today. Dr. Cidon is an excellent diagnostician. She has helped us through several illness. She keeps up on the latest treatments and has given us extra years with our dogs because of her knowledge and care. She loves our dogs and makes them feel relaxed and welcome every time we visit. Michele, a registered veterinary technician, has been there since the beginning and always makes us feel so welcome when we see her. It really is a very comfortable experience, even if we are there with a sick animal. The Staff is courteous and the office is very well run and organized. We lived in Oak Park when we started going to Pet Vets. Since then we have moved to Lisle, a suburb 20 miles away. Even with an Animal Hospital right behind our home, our confidence in Dr. Cidon, made the decision for us, to continue as her clients. Candie and Maggie Mae are giving Pet Vets Animal Hospital a 5 star rating , for the excellent love and care they have been given over the years. Thank you, Diana and Fred Blumhagen

I started going to Pet Vets when my familys wheaton terriers needed dental work. The staff were compassionate and did a wonderful job. When I got married and my husband wanted a puppy, I knew immediately who Id be trusting to care for him. Tug the pug is now 6 1/2 and has been lovingly cared for by the doctors and techs at Pet Vets. I drive an hour or more one way, and wouldnt dream of going anywhere else. The staff make Tug feel like a rock star. We have been seen by most of the doctors, including the owner, Dr. Cidon. She and the other doctors have always been kind, considerate, and consistent, making sure that I understand everything theyre doing. As if that isnt enough, the techs, like Tugs favorites Nicole and Genevieve, are friendly and display a great deal of knowledge as well. I have really appreciated the care that Tug has received, and will continue to receive, from the doctors and staff at Pet Vets. I will always recommend them!

I took my two dogs here for over 7 years, and was willing to pay their high prices because I considered Dr. Sherman a great vet. My issue was with the owner, Dr. Cidone. Long story short, she and her staff basically accused me of taking my dogs prescription (!!!) writing me a letter where she told me I "what I was trying to do was illegal and unethical" simply because I was trying to fill a perfectly legal prescription through them. My dog had just had blood work done at her vet in Minneapolis while she was staying with my mom, and Dr. Cidone wanted me to come in and have another appointment and blood work (several hundred dollars). My dog had multiple appointments over the last months and years with Petvets, and had been on the same medication for over a year at that time. I was going through a difficult time financially, and could not afford a second vet visit simply for them to confirm what everyone already knew. It was absolutely insane.

I cant say enough about the doctors and staff at PetVets. We came to the practice fourteen years ago when my dog, Ruby, was a puppy. Theyve treated Ruby for various illnesses and issues along the way with tremendous diligence and concern, always taking the least invasive route first. As she faces the difficulties of aging, PetVets (Dr. Cidon, in particular) continues to care for her with such genuine respect and kindness. Ruby has also participated in the rehab program for almost 2 years. I am a huge fan. Jenna and Dr. Kelleher are amazing. I truly believe her weekly hydrotherapy has not only helped relieve her arthritis pain but also has maintained her strength. Lastly, the practice is very organized, efficient, and I feel bills very fairly for its services. I feel so fortunate to have found PetVets and to have had them with Rube and me on this journey. Thank you PetVEts!

We have had nothing but great experiences at PetVets! We, sadly, needed to put down one of our cats, Max, in March. The receptionist and Dr. Cidone were wonderfully caring. Previously, we were with River Forest where our cat, Oscar, was not diagnosed accurately and subsequently needed to be put down after spending THOUSANDS of dollars for no answers and a lot of suffering for Oscar (and us). It was a terrible experience and we were (and still are) very sad about the whole thing. Our cat, Lulu (14 yo), came down with very similar symptoms (not eating and rapid weight loss) to Oscar shortly after Oscars passing. We knew we could not go back to River Forest, so instead tried PetVets. What a world of difference! With their help and compassion, we were able to resolve Lulus issues (via a steroid, antibiotic, appetite stimulant and fluids) within a few weeks. I HIGHLY recommend PetVets!

I transferred to PetVets in February 2016. I found the entire staff extremely helpful, caring and friendly. My male cat had crystals and it took laser treatments and combined with a couple acupuncture treatments and new food he is finally better. It was expensive, but I understand that the diagnostic machines are not cheap and prescriptions, boarding and multiple visits add up. I feel that they are well within the average market rates for such services. It was very helpful that their hours are until 7 pm during the work week so I didnt have to miss too much work. The facility is immaculate. The vets took time to explain everything and show me what was going on in the ultrasound. They always follow up by phone call to see how your pet is doing. I hope I dont have to return very much, but I would definitely go to them as long as I live in the area.
