New Years Eve found us with our german shepherd throwing up Christmas ribbons that she apparently had at some point ingested, so we decided we should get her checked before going back on the long road trip home. Erdman was convenient, open the longest hours of any non-emergency vet, and also the least expensive. Besides waiting in the waiting room for about an hour since its walk-in only, our experience was fantastic. I had read that the staff was the downside, but I thought they were all helpful and attentive. We saw Dr. Sharma who examined our dog, took x-rays, and took the time to walk us through them and the possible scenarios. Even though they were busy we were given the time we had waited for, which I think must be why you wait. They dont just rush you through. They clearly care about your animal more than the money. Our dog was left there for most of the day but since they didnt have overnight care Dr. Sharma gave us two different options- she could perform surgery and we could transfer her afterwards or we could take her to a 24/7 vet who could do both in one. We opted for the second just because it was easier and she agreed that that was a good option. While I feel confident that she got good care at the following vet, it was more expensive and we got about 3 minutes total with the vet, with no explanation of her condition, what was required in the surgery, or what the high estimate of services included. Luckily we had already been walked through most of it at Erdman, so we had an understanding, but it made us realize how lucky we were to get Dr. Sharma at first who really gave us her time and energy. Overall I was highly impressed with Erdman Animal Hospital and would recommend them to anyone looking for an animal clinic. They are less expensive, but that doesnt mean that they do worse work. They seem like an old fashioned clinic that cares about the pets and understands not everyone can afford unnecessary tests. Id trust them again with our pets anytime! Thanks for all your help Erdman!

This place was terrible. It came recommended, and we made an appointment for my sick foster dog. They pretended to but didnt really take appointments: it was rather a free-for-all--the staff took whomever was waiting at the door first regardless of scheduling. I was the second person in, had the first appointment slot and it still took them an hour to see me. The waiting room was cramped and filthy. Animals that came in were off leash and wandered around at random. The staff and techs were very nice, but the female vet we saw was not only snippy, but wouldnt listen when both myself and the coordinator for our foster organization made it clear that we would need to walk through treatment at every step. She gave us a $600 estimate, including $150 just to stay over night at a facility that has no 24 hour Vet or Tech! We okayed fluids and antibiotics, and they also gave the dog a sedative without asking. By the time we picked him up and transferred him to a known vet, he was nearly unresponsive--could have killed him. I cannot highly enough suggest that you stay away from this clinic. Its one thing to run a clinic on a shoestring budget in a less-than-affluent part of town like where I live, but quite another to provide sub-standard and dangerous care at a premium price ($40 for an exam...standard just about anywhere in the city...for example). Stay away.

I like the hospital as the vets appear to be knowledgable. However the staff, and not all of them leave little to be desired. I recently brought my cat who died in for cremation. The staff is young and unprofessional. There were three staff at the front. To of the staff thought something was funny as they kept staring at me to see what my reactions was going to be. If they were not laughing at me, then I could not tell it but it sure felt like it. The other staff conveyed sympathy with her eyes. I will continue to use the hospital, as the vets are knowledgable and experienced. However, they need a more a mature professional staff . From the person who answers the phone to the person who accepts your cash. I realize that everyone does not know how to handle loss, but working in a ANIMAL HOSPITAL, I think the workers should have a little empathy and knowledge in grief and loss. If that is the case, if you cant control your emotions, get a job at Walmart or in fast food, as you dont need a whole lot of emotion to work there.

I am not good at leaving reviews but I need to share my experiences. My first visit to Erdmans was because of another vets failure to know my cat of 20 years was dying of stomach cancer. So we took our Lucky to Erdmans hoping for some help with his illness. The vet was straight to the point she told us what we needed to hear, because of her and the assistant our cat was put to rest and out of pain. Its not a happy story but they really are professional they have passion for your pets and they dont play around with your money. We recently rescued a cat off the streets and he hurt his paw. I called three vets before calling Erdmans, big mistake no one would talk to me because we have never been there before. Oh and I was snowed in thanks to blizzard Jonas. Erdmans talked me down and gave me the best advice for him. Thank you guys for your help. This is my go to place for my furbabies. You guys are amazing and I appreciate everything youve done for me and my pets. Keep up the good work!

I found Erdman Animal Hospital purely by chance, but Im glad I did. I was looking for a low-cost option for some major dental work that my cat needed after being quoted around 1500.00 at my neighbood vet. Erdman did the work and my cat received excellent care for a fraction of that cost. EAH is now my cats primary care provider. I travel 50 miles to get there, but its worth it. Pros: The vets and vet techs are excellent. They take the time to talk with you and answer questions even though the waiting room is full. They fill prescriptions on the spot. You dont need an appointment. The hours of operation are great and they are open everyday. Cons: No free parking - make sure you bring change for the meter. They dont take appointments so the wait times are sometimes extremely lengthy, but if you know that ahead of time its easier to wait. This place is the opposite of fancy. Your vet bill is clearly not going towards any frou-frou decor.

This is my boarding experience. I arrived at 8 am to drop off my dog for boarding. I finally left a half hour later. The main employee at the front desk, who looked like a twelve year old, had to process all of the vet clients while we waited. It was the same story when picking her up. They finally brought her out to me. Usually when I board her, shes excited to see me. This time she didnt even look at me, but pulled me toward the door, like, "get me outa here". I finally saw her eyes which were draining white & green goo. Her face just had a terrible, sick look. She threw up twice in the car, so I took her to another pet hospital. I asked them for water and she drank it like she really needed it!!! They also didnt return her collar & leash. Two hours of work lost, a vet bill, along with a new collar & leash. Extra money I didnt have to spend.
