My sister was a patient of Dr. Pattersons. She had gone to him for about 25 years and trusted him completely. When she was about 48 years old she began to have difficulty breathing and seemed to be coughing more than normal. She told Patterson of her difficulty to which there was no other response than him ordering a hand held inhaler. This did nothing to relieve her difficulties. I tried to get her to go see another doctor but she trusted him and said she would try what he suggested. Over a period of two years she became worse and began having back pain, She was referred to a pain doctor, She began having difficulty walking for which she was referred to a neurologist. Still with no relief she was referred to another pain management doctor. After being referred to approx 5 other doctors and suffering excruciating pain he finally referred her to a psych doctor and told her husband he thought it was all in her head. Three weeks later at the age of 50 she died with cancer with bone metastasis. I know he could not have prevented the cancer, however she could have received proper treatment for her diagnosis which would have not only slowed the progression of the cancer but she would not have suffered as much as she did over the past two years. I feel Dr. Patterson did not perform prudently as a physician in the capacity he occupies. I am a registered nurse and I have not seen such neglect of patient care. He has tried to cover his tracks by saying x-rays did not show anything. The truth is, they indeed did not show anything because he failed to get any x-rays or labs on her. She told me herself she didnt even have any basic blood work done in nearly a year before her death. Shame on you Dr. Patterson. your complacent behavior caused the early death of a lovely person who was loved by many. You should have been sanctioned in some way for your neglect. Her name was Maida (Kippy) Dunn and her husband Pete Duranowski has suffered tremendously monetarily and emotionally.

Over the phone they told me I couldnt be seen for days. Something as simple as poison ivy and now Im paying $75 at urgent care. What happen to a family doctor that can take care of something simple over the phone.
