I have nothing but wonderful, wonderful things to say about Dr. Ramsey and Dr. Falzone at VCA Dunmore Animal Hospital. My sweet little beagle broke her tail in the early summer of 2014 and since it was after hours I took her to the emergency vet in Clarks Summit. (Initially I had no idea her tail was broken. I only saw that she had a very deep cut on her tail from where the screen door had slammed on her tail and caught it.) The ER vets told me the tail was broken and needed to be amputated. Imagine my distress and being forced to make such an urgent decision for my dog under such distress. Well, I felt pressured to have her tail amputated then and there but something told me to just wait it out until the morning (the ER vet did clean the tail for me, which I appreciated) so my dog could see Dr. Ramsey...and thank God I did. In fact, Dr. Ramsey himself told me that he was so glad I followed my heart and did not have the tail amputated. He said he wanted to try to mend the tail...and he worked really, really hard to do so. Dr. Falzone saw my dog for some of the follow up appointments this situation required...and both doctors were outstanding! Their patience, tenderness, and true love for the well being of precious animal family members is wonderful! In the end, my dogs tail healed and now it is the perfect little beagle tail that it always was. My dog has also suffered from some lameness in her back leg and most recently, an abcessed anal gland...conditions treated by Dr. Falzone. She is so gentle and kind, helpful and informative when it comes to the health and well being of my sweet dog. We have been regular patients from the time our dog was a pup and the high quality of care and treatment has been extended to our dog every time she is seen at this vet...whether it is routine or for an ailment. When we have appointments and Dr. Ramsey happens to see my dog in the waiting or reception area he greets her with such joy and excitement. I love that both doctors have introduced themselves and interacted with my dog on her level (requiring them to get down on the floor to be at her level since shes a small dog) so she feels comfortable and gains trust with them. I can only speak of these two vets at this location because they are the only two doctors there that have treated our dog...but they are AWESOME...they are the BEST! I love my dog more than life itself...and I would trust no one else to care for her other than these two fine, fine doctors!

I have been to this facility 5 times with my new puppy. Twice with problems and 3 times for routine visits. I have only had my new puppy for 4 months! Dr Layne is who we saw. I feel she does truely like animals and the staff has been polite however there are more negatives than positives at this facility. I dont feel that she has had through physical exams during her visits as one of her problems had early symptoms that went unnoticed during her routine exams. This resuted in me making yet another visit. I DEFINATELY feel as though they try to get you to make as many visits there as they possibly can! We all know what that means for them. in addition they over diagnose and make mountains out of mole hills. They will have you paying hand over fist for many unneccesary tests and visits. The wait times in the exam room on two occasions have been horrendous! I have literally waited to be discharged with my dog after the exam for over 1/2 hour. For these reasons I will not be staying with this group for the care of my two dogs.

Highly recommended! Dr Ramsey was absolutely wonderful and took great care of my cat over a 5 year span before she died of cancer at 17. I first brought her there when her previous vet had no idea what was wrong with her and wanted to send her to Cornell. I brought her to Dr Ramsey and Dr Falzone and they were able to diagnose her condition and bring her back to good health. They took wonderful care of her and took the time to explain the diagnosis. When she was dying of cancer, I called them in a panic to see if they could see her that day and they let me in immediately. I did not even spend anytime in the waiting room, Dr Ramsey was right there to meet me when I came in! He and the rest of the staff there seem to really care about animals and I would highly recommend them.

We have nothing but praise for the doctors, technicians, assistants, receptionists, and billing. They are warm and friendly and make your pet feel loved. Their prices are comparable to other vets. We are on a fixed income and they always work with us on a payment plan. The facility is bright and cheery and very clean. The doctors care is impeccable. If people have a problem with prices and like the "cheaper" vets, remember, you get what you pay for. I dont feel VCA is over priced at all, same fees we had to pay in NY and NJ. and VCA is a lot cleaner and friendlier.

Had a disappointing interaction with Dr. Falzone recently when I was called to bring my dog in earlier in the day so that she could leave earlier. I had my appointment scheduled for weeks and this new time did not work with my schedule but was the only time offered so I left my function early to get to the office with my pup. Also heard extramarital affair rumors about her from neighbors. Is this the standard we are holding our vets to now? I will be taking my pup elsewhere

My daughter takes her cat to this veterinarian and she bought the vet care package for her cat there and she pays the veterinarian a monthly fee, every month. Today, the receptionist charged her an extra $100 To get the cat spaded, for the pain medication. It says in the monthly payment plan that it is included. But the receptionist said it must be a mistake. Be aware of getting cheated out of your money!!!!

Yes to all of you out there that say they are expensive. Your right they are. But for how little we take out indoor cat to the vet it is cheap. I like all the doctors up there, especially Dr. Falzone. We were always treating with Ramsy but one day he couldnt see our cat so we got an appointment with Michele and never went back to Ramsy. We are so happy with the VCA. Yes the prices should be better.

All of the vets are very nice here. Dr. Ramsi is a great person and is wonderful with the animals. The services may be pricey compared to other places but I dont mind paying a little more for the quality of care that my pup has received since hes started going there; to me, it is worth it.

The service you get is good, the vet are very nice, but you pay and arm and a leg plus give up your first born for their services. If my pets werent already comfortable with the docs there, I would switch if there was someone with more reasonable pricing.
