ONE HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! On Saturday, July 25, 2015 at about 8:30am, I took my husband to the ER at Methodist Willowbrook. He was complaining of pain in his chest and difficulty breathing. When we walked into the ER, there were absolutely no patients there. I told the nurse my husbands symptoms and instead of her examining him immediately, she told me that we would have to check in with Registration first. We began to do as she said and then I said "How long is this going to take?!". At that moment, they moved him to the exam area and began taking his vitals. He was then put into an exam room. We were assigned an ER nurse - David. He was very good. They did blood work, x-rays, a CT Chest scan and an EKG. He was given an aspirin, and two different pain medications. One of which was Norco. The doctor finally showed up - Dr. Neffsinger. She never examined my husband. She did not touch him! The tests were all negative, but they admitted him to the hospital for the day so that they could check his blood enzymes every 4 hours two more times. He was assigned Dr. Ciborowski who only came to see him once. They could not find out what caused his symptoms. At about 11pm, he was discharged and given a prescription for acid reflux. We asked the nurse whose name is Vida (she was excellent), where was his prescription for pain. Since they could not determine what caused his symptoms, he was still having pain and the only thing that helped was the Norco. Also, the pain caused him to breathe shallowly which the doctor said would eventually cause him to have pneumonia if he did not start taking deep breaths. Vida said that the doctor did not leave a prescription for pain medication. We refused to leave until he got a prescription for the pain medication. The nurse called Dr. Ciborowski who had already left the hospital without ever coming to check on my husband again! My husband talked to her on the phone. She eventually agreed to come back to the hospital with the prescription. She had Vida meet her in the ER to get the prescription. We stopped at the CVS to fill the prescription. The pharmacist told us that he could not fill the prescription because it was not written on a prescription pad that had a control number on it as required by the DEA. I called the nurse (Vida) again who called Dr. Ciborowski and relayed the problem that we were having getting the prescription filled. The doctor called the pharmacy and the pharmacist explained the problem. Dr. Ciborowski never called us back with any instructions. After some time, I called the nurse (Vida) who instructed me to call the doctors service. I called and I was told that they could not call the doctor after 8pm. They said that they would have her backfill call me. The backfill said that she could not call Dr. Ciborowski after 8pm either. I asked if she could write the prescription. She said that she could not because she was not the doctor who had seen my husband. My husband and I were very upset. We did not know what we were going to do! I was very worried about him. We were about to go back to the ER as the backfill had suggested when she called to say that she had written the prescription. Since Norco is a controlled medication, it cannot be called into the pharmacy. The backfill said that she would give the prescription to Vida, the nurse. I went back to the hospital (about 15 miles). Vida came down and met me with the prescription. By this time, it was after 1am Sunday morning. Vida went out of her way to do everything that she could for us. For everything that she did, we are very appreciative.

WORST ER EVER!!! I was recently directed by my OB to come here after vomiting for 15+ hours. I arrived at 1 am and by 530 am had still never seen a dr. I was put in a room for 2.5 hours and no one ever came to check on me. I was not clinically dehydrated upon arrival but after 4 hours of continuous vomiting in this ER I was severely dehydrated. I was told by the asian nurse that there was only one dr working the ER. WHAT????? After being in the room for so long my husband finally opened the door to the hallway to see what was going on. We could hear woman gossiping and laughing at the desk. He pushed the button to call for a nurse and the lady from admitting came in the room and asked, literally, "what do you want?" Why was she coming in? She is not even medical personnel! My husband asked for the nurse, when she finally showed up she was irritated to be there and very cold and curt. I begged for something to stop the vomiting and she coldly informed me that it was against the law for her to give me anything with out orders from the dr. I asked how much longer the dr would be and she responded that there were still several people in front of me that I would just have to "deal with it." I finally began crawling to get out of the bed and told her we would be leaving and going to a different hospital to which she responded that I should do what ever I wanted. When I put my shoes on and began walking out the door she began YELLING that she would call the police if I left with the IV port in my arm. (this was put in but never used, why???) I told her to call the police. She RAN out the door to go call the police. She was clearly more concerned about the port than my welfare. My husband convinced me to let her remove it and she beraded me the entire time. I have never experienced such treatment at a medical facility in all my life. When I reached another emergency room, my pulse was 117 and I was severely dehydrated. I required two bags of fluids and the dr was in shock that I was left so long without care. He explained that dehydration is very serious during pregnancy. I informed my OB about my experience and he said he has had 3 other patients complain about the care given here as well as other physicians. His entire practice no longer refers patients to this hospital. I will continue to warn everyone I know about this horrible facility. By the way, 2 years previously my husband came in to the ER in the middle of the day with complaints of chest pain. He had a heart attack one year before this. He sat in the waiting room for 2 hours before they ever checked his cardiac enzymes. We thought this was an isolated incident. Apparently, it is the norm.

Due to my chronic medical issues and the proximity of the hospital...this is where my daughter and I go. Came here this past Friday 3/10/2017 because my hands would contort painfully and my mouth would shift to the left making my speech garbled and I would drool. But then my muscles would relax and is be ok. Anyway...when I first arrived had CT scan...normal of course. I had a complex partial and grand Mal seizure in ER room. I also had a few contrition episodes. My ER staff were golden. I was admitted and scheduled for MRI either that night or in AM. I panicked in scanner cause I felt my arms were trapped. I was supposed to get sedative then try again. That wasnt done. The MRI. The internist and neuro doc decided no for MRI. Basically chalked it up to break thrust seizures. Discharge ppwrk stated no epilliptic seizures. No change in medication.continue with current meds and follow up. I left tofsy feeling like a pain in the ass! Once again dismissed because I dont fit what the experts state is true to life signs of a stroke or anything else. I couldnt finish my IV bag of diantin because the site was swelling becoming indurated and red. Everytime I touched it....burn like the Dickens! Told the nurse something wrong but he didnt want to restick me. He did DC the IV and medicine. So, since my former neuro mistake almost killed me, and finding a decent doctor is like finding underwear that wont roll off your ass. Ive decided no matter what is going on. No matter if I feel worse or have a thousand of these episodes I will not return to any ER. Because technology and degrees is a bunch of BS. I might be the atypical patient. normall scan of course.....normal
