My experience begins when I was driving home from a friends late at night and found a poor kitten on the side of the road. It was hit by a car and couldnt move its back legs, I instantly take care for the animal and wrap it up in my jacket and call everyone I knew was awake. My boyfriend Paul did everything he could to find a vet office that would be 24/7 -- well this hospital was the best we could do. They have a 24 hour service, little did I know they charge 100 dollars for that service. I went in and the vet was very kind and did x-rays and showed me that the back bone of the kitten was severed in half. I grew very attached in the short time I had him in my care. The only solution was to let him not be in pain for the rest of his life. I was distraught and in a melancholy the rest of the night, with tears and a heavy heart, he hands me a bill of $350. At the time I was too sad to think about it, Paul stepped in and gave him a check for Friday to be cashed when he gets paid. Well long story short, the check bounced. He tried contacting them multiple times to resolve the issue but they would never answer the calls. They turned in the charge to collections with a prosecutor who talked to Paul and I. Paul told him he tried to pay them constantly but the office wouldnt take his money, saying he had to pay the prosecution office. It was a back and forward until all the messages were cleared and he wrote them a check to be cashed that day, well that couldnt be accepted so he gave them 200 cash that was in his wallet and the rest is coming on his pay day. This stupid debate was stretched over 3 months. Trying to pay and they would just not accept the money with constant calls to both ends of the party. They left me, who did not take financial responsibility, multiple messages with threats and a piss poor attitude. Maybe the vets are nice, but my experience says, over-priced, uncaring and very very rude women at the post. Thanks for making my heartache for that little baby cat last so long in frustration when we tried to fix the wrong within the week it was made. Rude people, I will urge people to seek another pet clinic, just in case something goes wrong. At the end of the day, they dont give a damn about animals OR money. They just like to overcharge and stir up unnecessary drama. Learn some customer service skills.

Well, we moved back to Seymour, IN about 20 months ago and have switched vets to Dr. Paul Rennekamp. Jackson County Animal Clinic really made me angry with their non caring attitude when I called in because of their extended hours when my friend from Brown Co. was not able to get in anywhere to have her suffering 14 yr old Schnauzer put to sleep. Yes, I have used their services in the past and yes I still had sent clients to them due to those extended hours. But no more! I called Jackson Co. Animal Hospital to try and get him in between 6 PM and 10 PM. The receptionist told me after checking with the vet that there was no way they had time to help with this problem. Really???? It does not take that long to put a dog down. Even if they would have had to wait until the 10 PM time slot it would have worked for them. They were willing to pay an emergency fee above the regular fee needed. You cannot tell me they could not fit this dog in. Dr. Paul Rennekamp from St. Francis did take the time to be available for my friend and her suffering fur baby. I will never return to Jackson County Animal Clinic nor will I send any more clients there from my home grooming business or my dog obedience classes. Although I had switched to St. Francis when we first moved here (mostly due to living right around the corner) I will now continue to go to Dr. Rennekamp and his staff as they have moved heaven and earth to take care of our three fur babies like I would and have shown me how a vet clinic should operate. Although my friend from Brown County was not a regular client, St. Francis Pet Hospital still was willing to take the time to give her a helping hand to assist her 14 yr. old Schnauzer to the rainbow bridge. To me this was the proper and compassionate thing to do.

A couple years ago our baby Stinky Pete had a knot on her chest and it swelled up and started draining blood. We were so scared. We rushed her to a couple different vets in the area but they wouldnt see her because my husband didnt get paid or a couple days. We thought she was gonna die. We then thought we would try St.Francis. They took her right in and Dr. Paul treated our baby. The wonderful receptionist paid for her meds. I was crying I was so overwhelmed that they were more worried about Stinky than how we were gonna pay. I thank God for them. When my husband got paid we went back in and paid them. Stinky had cancer and they ended up doing surgery and a lot of medical treatment and we owe them a bill. I want to pay them. We now adopted another fur baby and I would absolutely take her there if they will have us back. I dont hardly trust anyone else. I recommend St. Francis very highly. They are very knowledgeable and caring.

November 17, 2014 Dr. Paul, Today is Cheyenne’s birthday, so I just wanted to drop a line and tell you thanks for saving her life. I just wanted to send a thank you to you and your staff for always taking such good care of all my 4 legged family members. Cheyenne, my cat that you helped to survive back in 2006, is now 17 years old and still doing fine. My beloved pets have done so well with the care that you have provided for them over the years. There were times I called you late at night, weekends, and holidays and you were always ready to help them out. I couldn’t have done it without your help and the affordability of your prices to get treatment, not to mention it was better for me and my pets to be able to stay here locally. Sincere thanks Lori Day

Any time I take any of my fur babies to Dr. Rennekamp I am never disappointed. Ive had a lot of bad experiences in the past with precious vets, but after meeting Dr. Rennekamp I will never go to another vet. Today he couldve been home enjoying time with his family and because I called him worried that my dog was sick he went into the office to leave me some medicine to help my boy and ease a worried mommas mind. He never gives any of my babies less than his best at every single visit. I highly recommend taking your fur babies here because my babies get top quality care from someone who has proven time and time again that he is in this for the animals and not the money and I couldnt ask for a better vet to take my fur babies to.

For the past several years, Dr. Paul and his staff have compassionately, knowledgeably, and thoroughly cared for my furry family members and rescue pets, a few of whom have had serious and/or complex medical conditions. Dr. Paul has always been honest yet positive when discussing medical needs, options, and/or prognosis and has always made himself available to address any questions or concerns and to attend to emergencies that have occurred. His staff has always been courteous and professional yet caring. Overall, Dr. Paul and his staff have gone above and beyond to not only meet but to exceed my high standards and expectations.
