Ive been using Desert Eye for the past two years without a problem. Ive loved the doctors, and before this incident, I was treated respectfully and fairly during all interactions. However, after going in for my yearly exam and receiving my new prescription and contacts, it didnt take long before I realized that there was something wrong with my prescription. The strength of my prescription was lacking severely, and due to this I havent been able to see as clearly or as far (given that I am near-sighted), which has obviously caused me serious problems at work, driving, etc. Not only that, the lenses prescribed fit very poorly to my eye, restricting airflow and becoming uncomfortable very quickly. When I called and asked to make an appointment to resolve this issue and update my prescription a few weeks later (I really gave the lenses a shot, I figured they just needed some time to settle into my eye, or maybe I was just experiencing some allergies), I was told that I would not be able to make an appointment, as the office was booked solid. So I waited two weeks to see my optometrist. I came in for my appointment and explained the situation in detail to the doctor, who examined my eyes and told me in no uncertain terms that everything looked fine, just a bit dry, which was probably why my vision was so impaired, and recommended that I purchase some eye drops. So of course I went out and did just that. I gave it a few more weeks before I came to the conclusion that the eye drops were not working, as I was still suffering from all of the previous symptoms. So, I called Desert Eye again and tried to set up an appointment. I was given the same speech as before, that they were fully booked for at least a week, but were happy to make an appointment then. I explained my situation to the receptionist, and, in light of how uncomfortable I was, she managed to squeeze me in a few days later. I waited in the reception area for an hour and 45 minutes. When the doctor finally came out to see me, she was brusque and did not seem to take my concerns seriously at all, which was evident by the fact that, while I waited an hour and 45 minutes to see her, I was only worth 20 minutes of her time. She had me put in a new pair of trial contacts and asked me how they felt. I told her in no uncertain terms that I was still experiencing blurred vision, and that I still couldnt see as far or as clearly as I was used to. She told me to blink them in a bit more and call back in a week. I have been wearing contacts for a decade, and I have never once had to "blink them in and wait a week" to experience clearer vision. Sure, they take some time to settle, I understand that, but I have ALWAYS been able to see almost immediately out of my lenses once applying them to my eye. But that wasnt even the problem I found the most infuriating. I felt belittled, rushed out, and unimportant to the doctor who was put in charge of my wellbeing. MY SIGHT. I had explained the situation multiple times, been very clear about the problems I was experiencing, and my HEALTH ISSUE was not resolved. I am not one to make a scene, even though I was visibly frustrated and expressed this to the doctor who was meant to be treating me. She repeated that I just needed to "give it some time" and "trust her". So, I waited a few days in the HOPES that the doctor was right, but unfortunately my problems persisted. So, for the third time, I called Desert Eye and spoke to the receptionist. This time, however, I asked to speak to the doctor - who was apparently unavailable. So, for the third time, I explained my situation. This time though, the receptionist said that the only thing she could do for me was to have the doctor return my call. The doctor never returned my call. I have never been so appalled by the lack of care and sensitivity shown by people who work in a medical profession. I am embarrassed for you. Not only does this situation perilously border upon medical malpractice, it goes against all oaths you have taken to care for your patients health.

A small office, but very good in terms of exams. The optometrist was very polite and was very through (something a lot of other places skimp on). She was the first optometrist to be able to get a prescription as perfect as possible for my vision (which is hard due to a strong astigmatism). The only thing I didnt like was when it came to frame and lens selection. I was really uncomfortable when the lady who was trying to help me out with selection kept trying to sell me things that I did not want to get. The prices were a bit high for my range so I went to another place to get my frames. But the prescription was absolutely perfect. In fact it was good enough to warrant me coming back again, which Ill be doing in a few weeks as part of my annual eye exam.

I have been going here since I was in college at ASU and even after I moved away I continue to make the trip. All the staff and Doctors are extremely friendly and acommodating, but most important they really take eye health seriously and not just selling products like alot of places Ive seen. The exams are thorough and the doctors always follow-up when they make any adjustments to your prescriptions. Even if you dont live in Tempe I think you s

I LOVE DR. PEARSON! He has been our eye doctor for over 10 years. It wasnt until our insurance no longer covered vision that we stopped seeing him. He really cares about his patients and whats going on in their lives. He remembered our last visit, from over a year ago, and we just picked up where we left off. Love him and his practice. Genuinely, I would recommened this practice and this doctor any day of the week.

The staff was wonderful. I came here for a pre Lasix referral along with my annual evaluation. The doctor took her time to make sure I was comfortable with everything. I definitely recommend this office.
