Ive never wrote a review before, excuse the length. I hvnt yet mastered getting to the point of things lol. I just feel that Dr. Mahnaz Qayyum and her staff deserves recognition. In brief: recently Ive gone thru two painful losses and few months after that my family and I had to leave our homes from one state to relocate here in Florida due to a furious fire that destroyed over a thousand homes n businesses not to mention 14+ppl died as well as many poor animals. My health levels needed immediate assistants. Finding the right doctors is always hard for not every doctor deserves the label Doctor. Hvg kids n grdkds one of the lessons Ive tried to instill even now in them is do everything in love and team wrk. The seventh doctors office I called that my health insurance provided to me was Dr. Qayyum office. I was completely astonished how Kelly Thompson was so accommodating and beneficent. Some doctors don’t realize how important it is to have a good staff like Kelly and later found her co-workers like Kelly had all the great qualities that Ive instilled in my children. To me the first point of contact is essential! Due to my pain levels my very first thought was oh gosh I hope Im not sitting n sitting, waiting n waiting. I was quite pleased that I was seen appropriate. Quite hesitant with my first visit with Dr. Qayyum ....It didnt take long for me to feel like Im not just a number. Dr. Qayyum was pleasant and detailed. Under grt consideration and professionalism she listened and took everything under care and attention with out rush. She made me feel like she took the time to get to know me which made me feel comfortable with her. Im looking forward to continuing working with Dr. Qayyum in my journey to staying healthy. Thank You Dr. Qayyum for being you.

I am so glad I went to Dr. Qayyums office three years ago...I needed a doctor that wasnt going to hold my hand and tell me everything will be ok, I needed one that would be honest and direct when I gave excuses. I know I was overweight (235 pounds) and I also knew that I had tried on and off for the last 3 years to lose weight and never going below 223 pounds. My last appointment in April 2017, Dr. Q told me I was pre-diabetic, and that my A1C was now 6.1 and up from my last lab test. We discussed that my other lab numbers were good and the only reason that number was elevated was because of my weight. I explained I tried shakes, diet programs, exercise to no avail and it sucks to stand on a scale and not have it move past 223 no matter what you do, so I gave up. She asked if I was ready to do something different. We discussed it a little and at the end of our conversation we agreed that I would try her diet for 40 days, if I didnt see results she wouldnt bother me about my weight and we would have to come up with plan #2 for my test scores. Today, day 15th day of my diet I have LOST 18 pounds...and I now weigh 216. I have past my 223 mark and am a total believer in this diet. I would not have known about it if Dr. Q hadnt been direct and told me the truth of my situation and offered a solution instead of just saying "you need to lose weight". My life is changing and I am so excite about it. I look forward to the next two weeks and the changes to come....remember I had given Dr. Q 40 days. I will post the results at the end of my experience...(Roughly, June 3rd, 2017) Until then....and remember it is easier to write something negative then positive....look for the positive in life.

Never in my life have I ever felt more shamed by a doctor. I went in for my yearly physical exam (which involved nothing more than having my vitals taken, and listening to my lungs--things that are done at any other appointment) this morning, with a list of things I needed to discuss with her. Unfortunately, the topic of my current financial struggles came up in conversation, and it was like a switch was turned on. Instead of speaking to me about my concerns, which included my recent diagnosis of bipolar2, and my pcos/infertility/weightloss problems, she quickly wrote me a script for xanax (Ive been taking it on and off for about 2 years), wrote a script for labs (which did not include any of the hormone tests I need to manage the pcos), and told me shed see me in a month-- she couldnt get out of the exam room fast enough. When I tried to bring up my concerns regarding the pcos/infertility issues, she looked at me over her shoulder, and smugly said, "Do you really think thats something that you need to concern yourself with right now?", referring to the financial issues that we had briefly discussed, and added, "Just lose weight; your fertility problem will solve itself". Then she turned back around and mumbled that she would be adding a drug test. The worst part is, the office will be billing my insurance for this crock of a physical exam...which means Ill have to wait a year to get a proper one done. I truly miss Dr. Dean and her staff at the Longenix practice. I was her patient for 5 years before Dr. Qayyum took over, and I never had any issues with getting my medical issues taken care of. Unfortunately, I will now have to search for another PCP.

if you are a new patient, expect to see the physician assistants all the time. We have been going to this office for 2 years or so now and have only seen Qayyum in passing. For the past year there is new staff there every time you go so trying to get to know someone is pointless. And getting prescription refills from them is a freaking joke. They tell you to have the pharmacist send them a request and then they dont approve it and send it back. My husband once waited a week for his prescriptions to be renewed by them. They said they didnt get a request and it was on the doctors desk the whole time. We have been waiting 3 days this time and now it is the weekend. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS OFFICE TO ANYONE!!

My mother, sister, and I all went to this same office and each of us had a horrible experience. My sister took my mother to an appointment when she was really ill. My mother was also seeing specialists at the time and we were awaiting the results. Qayyum told us that she probably has cancer without even asking anything about her illness. Naturally, my sister and I were devastated. After we spoke with the specialists and the doctor at the hospital, they said "whoever told us that had absolutely no basis to say that." My mother went to see the nurse practitioner there because she seemed a little more approachable, however she never knew what was wrong and actually said she doesnt know.

Seeing Dr Q is a nightmare. I have been confused with other patients, billed for other patients services and the nurses never know what Im there for. Your treatment was based on whatever the doctor was selling at the time. When she had an allergist on staff, I needed allergy testing. When she did vein surgery, that was recommended. But these needs went away when insurance paperwork got to bothersome for her and she stopped offering those services. If you go now, she will try to sell you her weight loss and derma abrasion treatments. She has advertisements tunings constantly in the waiting room and skin care products on display for sale. What can she sell you today?
