I took my 3 sons for an eye exam and previously told the receptionist that I didnt need a FULL exam (dialating etc.) and she told me it wouldnt be necessary. On the day of the exam we waited for about 2 hours before we were called in from the lobby. They did the first sets of tests and history and then it was another 30 minutes in the 2nd lobby. After we were called, I reminded them not to dialate their eyes and a female nurse very rudely proceeded to tell me that "This is not some regular office! Dialting is required blah blah blah..." basically told me I had no choice or Dr. Shah wouldnt be able to do the exam (didnt even care that we were already there over 2 hours). In 5 years of exams my sons have NEVER needed their eyes dialated for a simple eye exam. We asked to see Dr. Diaz instead and he did not dialate their eyes thankfully. The female nurse was just being stubborn and rude. When we were all done, they optical center only has 2 people working. We had to wait another 45 minutes just to be seen since one lady does the "orders" and the other does "pick-ups". The woman with the short Kate Gosslin hair who does "pick-ups" sat and did nothing while we all waited on the "orders" lady to help us. Oh, and it takes about 2 WEEKS to get your glasses. Even though they told me it would take 7-10 days, I went by at the 2 week mark since I never got a call. I signed in, walked over to the "pickups" lady and told her I just needed to check and see if glasses were ready. She told me to sign in and wait. I had to wait another 20 minutes JUST TO ASK if my sons glasses were ready. When the pickups lady called my name I told her again that I needed to just check on the order. She then pointed me to some other girl at the computer. SHE COULD HAVE DONE THAT IN THE FIRST PLACE! Turns out the glasses had been ready but nobody had called me. My son has very poor vision so 2 weeks without glasses was NOT fun for him. So UNLESS youre going to Shah for SURGERY, dont bother with regular eye exams nor glasses there. Its NOT worth the 3-4 hour wait. Oh, and I also had lasik surgery with Dr. Pena and I was very very very happy with my results. They schedule surgerys within a day or two of your initial consult.

I would NOT recommend this group. It is a business, not a doctors office. I arrived early for an appointment, signed in, and asked if they were sure they took my (new since last time) insurance. The lady said "Yes." So I waited 45 minutes-- now 35 minutes past my appointment time-- when I was called up, not to go back to the doctor, but to copy my insurance card, when a new lady said "We need a referral, or you could pay yourself." You are a customer there, not a patient, and there is always a long wait and virtually no time with a doctor.

This place by far has the most horrid waiting times. Had an appt at 8:30 arrived at 8 sharp. I waited over 3 hrs being bounced around from main waiting room to internal waiting rooms within the building. I counted atleast 7 waiting rooms inside, I guess to distract people and to make them believe this experience is almost over. It is also very big and full of people. I Will NEVER Come here again unless I have absolutely nothing to do for the day. This is boring, its cold and the employees are not too friendly.

Out of all of the Eye Doctors in the Valley, Shah Eye really has taken the time to understand what my issues are and not just rush me through, that has been my biggest frustration with the other past Drs I have seen elsewhere. Also I really enjoy my experience at Shah Eye, I came in for a Retina issue, and the lady Dr. Patel really took fantastic care of me. I have now seen her 3 times from the intitial diagnosis and follow up, I am so happy that she helped my vision improve! Thanks again!

This was my first eye clinic experience so I didnt know what to expect, broke my glasses a few weeks ago and I wanted to get a copy of my prescription. (1.5yrs old)Shah Eye Center held my old prescription hostage as they wanted to push me towards paying for another exam. I decided to take my business elsewhere seeing as thats what concerned them most, a business first and an eye clinic second.

Toooooooo loooooooong!!!! I was there over 3 hours with an appointment. You have 3 different nurses take you to 3 different rooms to finally have an eye doctor see you for less than 3 minutes. Also spoke to 3 different receptionists. Too many people to speak to. Sorry Id rather speak to few than many. I learned my Lesson. But they were all very nice and had a great selection of glasses.

I had a great experience there. Everyone was super nice and polite. Every single employee from the front office to the Dr. were so great, and super friendly. The Dr. took his time and was very informative when explaining the situation. The wait was not long at all, and the front office lady, Juanita, was my fave! Overall it was a great visit!

Horrible experience, secretaries are not well informed. And the wait time is super long. You get out about 4 to 5 hours after the appointment time. And no point in getting good there early or on time, they still call you about an hour and a half later just to see your insurance card. Never going back. And do not recommend.

Never called me back to pickup the glasses I had ordered. Waiting times were awful, the staff was friendly, but other than that, a huge waste of my time. Never going back. I advise, that unless you have all day, and like to wait, you dont go to that establishment.

Staff kept gossiping, tech performed vision exam and criticized my vision not being 20/20 with glasses. Doctor didnt ask any questions took a quick peek at my eyes and left. Not worth it at all!

Awful experience. Three hours plus just for eye exams because they obviously overbook themselves. Terrible communication skills.
